Rocky IV and Split Pea Soup

Nothing gets you more motivated to do your daily workout than watching one of the Rocky movies. I watched number four yesterday – the one where Rocky fights the Russian on steroids. By the time it got to the montage where he’s training in the snowy wilderness of Siberia, I just had to get off the couch and do some push-ups. Of course, my workouts are hardly the same caliber as Rocky’s. Still, it’s inspiring.

That was Sunday night. Today, I made split pea soup for the first time ever, and it came out pretty darn good! Crockpots are awesome! And now I have lunch and dinner for tomorrow already made… Or maybe just lunch. There’s still something to be said for variety.

By the way, I started reading the abridged writings of Josephus a couple days ago. I said I would give you a quote as soon as I found something interesting. Well, I don’t have a quote yet, but I did learn something cool. Did you know that the word “Hebrew” was derived from the name of Shem’s great, great grandson, Heber (Antiquities I, 143)? (Shem, in case you don’t know, was one of the sons of Noah.) Isn’t that a nifty piece of trivia?

Okay. Well, that’ll do for tonight. Time to go learn some more interesting trivia.

God bless, and good night!
