If you clicked on this wondering what on earth a Punjee is, then I don’t blame you. Do you remember when you were young and your creative output didn’t have those creeping inhibitions that tell you, “That idea is just too weird and dumb. Think of something else?” Well, I choose to defy that inner voice. I’ve always known the character, shown here having a dream, as Punjee. Along with his brother, Bob, and his dad, Funchy, he was developed collaboratively over the years by me and my sister and has since evolved into a character that – frankly – I can’t imagine going by any other name.
Also pictured here in the background are a handful of other characters that spontaneously manifested on a whiteboard while I was in college. I can’t really explain why BearSharkChariot or Dog Says No have stayed with me so long. They both started out as random doodles on a roommate’s whiteboard during late night study breaks… Now, over five years later, I’m getting all sorts of ideas of how to develop them into actual characters – much in the same vein as Funchy, Punjee, and Bob. Who knows. You might see more of them. If you’re interested in seeing more of them, be sure to keep an eye on BearSharkChariot.com – currently a work-in-progress as of this posting.
