I have no doubt that in the hearts of men and women there is a yearning to live the quest. We are all haunted with the fear of living lives of insignificance, and we all hear the voice that tells us we can live the dream. Somehow we all know that to play it safe is to lose the game. By definition an adventure is ‘an undertaking or enterprise of a hazardous nature.’ And life as God intended us to live it is nothing less than an adventure.
Excerpt from chapter 1 of Seizing Your Divine Moment: Dare to Live a Life of Adventure (Kindle edition) by Erwin Raphael McManus
This book was recommended by a friend as per my previous post. I’ve only read the Kindle sample, but it seems to be all about eschewing apathy and living to seize the moment each day. The writing style isn’t quite as eloquent as C.S. Lewis, but McManus does some good stuff to say. I chose the above quote because it resonates with where I’ve been and where I want to be headed from now on.
Many thanks to my friend for suggesting this book.
God bless, and good night!
