I bought some grayscale markers at the art store the other day. Here is a quick, crude test featuring Funchy, Punjee, and Bob. Not sure I like the results – but, at the very least, it’s a good exercise in perfecting the design of my characters.
I’ve got a lot of respect for cartoonists. It’s one thing to draw realistically – something I spent a lot of time doing in college. It’s something else entirely to be able to abstract those observations into believable caricatures. I’m still working on that.
Anyway, I think I’ll start posting more experiments like this from now on. It’s easier than developing a finished product (and a lot less stressful given how little time I have for personal projects.)
God bless, and good night!
