I am extremely proud of my cousins – all three of whom have just left the hospital in Boise where they were taken 15 hours after crash-landing in a small plane on a remote mountainside in Southwest Idaho last weekend. Click here to hear their story on the Tuesday morning’s Today Show newscast.
Their story is one of hope, but, to me, it’s also a lesson about life. A twofold lesson: First, don’t waste time. Life is too short and unpredictable to spend it sitting on your hands, so-to-speak. I’m not going to let that happen.
Second, when faced with life’s trials, always hope. Always persevere. Know that God has a purpose for each struggle you encounter, and his power is made perfect in weakness. The cool thing about my cousins’ situation was their fortitude and firm belief that they would survive despite their circumstances. There was no single “hero”. They were (and are) all heroes.
So, for me, this is more than just a story of survival. It’s a lesson in hope, trust, fortitude, and love. I’m proud to be related to related to such strong people, and I’m thankful to God for their miraculous survival.
God bless, and good night!
