I tuned the radio to NPR the other day to catch up on the news. It’s become a sort of ritual for me of late – listening to NPR. I’ve even made it my new morning alarm, replacing the standard beep. Of all the ways to keep up on the latest events, I’ve found this to be by far the most entertaining, accurate, and accessible.
Anyway, I turned on the radio the other day after work and heard that Congress is now voting about an pressing new piece of legislation. No, it has nothing to do with the national deficit, healthcare, education, or tax reform. It is, apparently, something far more urgent.
Are you ready for it?
Provided the bill makes it through Congress, buffalo will become the national mammal of the United States.
Is it just me, or is this just silly and dumb? Not because we’d be celebrating a noble species, but that this is one of the only things Congress is likely to agree upon for the foreseeable future.
… Oh, well. No point in complaining.
God bless, and good night.
