…because – … Aw, forget it. That line’s getting old. Heck, let’s just say I felt like baking tonight.
I’m a little worried that they won’t turn out, though. I saw little chunks of unmixed butter in the batter as I was pouring. I guess I’ll find out in a few minutes!
Oh, there’s the timer! Hold on just a sec…
…
False alarm. Not done yet.
Anyway, while I was baking, I was listening to old episodes of Veggietales on Netflix – you know, like the one featuring Rack, Shack, & Benny in Nezzar’s chocolate bunny factory (Did you know they made an updated version of Nezzar’s bunny song a few years later because parents were concerned about the lyrics?). I also turned on the one with the French peas in “Josh and the Big Wall”. What a classic series! It was heads and shoulders above other Christian shows for kids in the 90s (see the Bibleman show).
Oh, there’s the timer again…
…
They’re done! I’ll let you know how they turned out once they cool off.
So what else can I talk about? Hmm… Isn’t this an exciting blog post? I bet you’re just chomping at the bit to find out what I’m going to say next. Incidentally, so am I.
So… …
um…
…
…
… the muffins must have cooled by now. I think I’ll try one…
…
Okay, so they taste good. That’s the important thing, right? I mean, who cares if a quarter inch layer of overcooked muffin tears off when you remove the paper liner? It’s the heart of the muffin that matters, after all.
…right?
Okay, so I’m quite obviously scraping at the bottom of the barrel for this post. Let me at least try to redeem myself by ending with a quote that IS worth reading:
“All flesh is grass, and all it’s beauty is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the LORD blows on it; surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.” ~Isaiah 40:6-8
While this post is, for the most part, pointless and forgettable, it at least serves as a good counterexample to the word of God. Speaking of which, I think I’m going to start reading through the letters to the churches in the New Testament – starting with Romans. Want to join me?
God bless, and good night!
-Daniel
